Parts
A nice company to do business with. If they don't have your BMW part you don't need it.
Eine gute Firma. Wenn sie den BMW Teil nicht fuehren, brauchen Sie ihn warscheinlich nicht.

First snags
Well Tanner needs to get his motorcycle license updated and was scheduled for Thursday at the DMV. But with the state shutdown the office is closed until further notice. All vacation for me has been cancelled until the state is back up and running. I don't see the shut down going until Aug, 1st but you never know. Fingers crossed at this point.

Camera mounts for the bikes
Trying out some Camera mounts so we can have some action shots of the trip.
Tanner and I went for a short ride yesterday and the whole ride I kept thinking about what we will feel like when we get back from Alaska with 9000 miles put on the bikes in 30 days.
I'm sure glad we are taking the BMW's. The 1150GS is really nice for being on all day. Tanner's F650 gets a little vibration at higher speeds, being a single cylinder. But at 17 I doubt I'll hear any complaints from him on such an awesome ride.
The jump off date is getting closer

We have made a decision to bring extra tires with us, knowing one set will not make the whole trip. I have never carried tires on any of my bike adventures. We will need to figure a way to strap them on the back of the bike that allows them to come on and off the gear with not too many difficulties.

Planing stages
The trip is still in the planing stages with a jump off date in Aug. It is becoming more surreal with the pile of new stuff stacking up in the garage. New tires, helmets, rain gear, ect....
